In 1998, Gulf Petrochem first established a re-refinery in Sharjah's Hamriyah Free Zone. It was the commissioning of this refinery that firmly established the Company into oil production.

The success of the refinery was harnessed by commissioning a state-of-the-art PLC-based Condensate Splitter taking the combined capacity to about 500 MT per day in 2008, with storage of 25,000 cbm to handle different feedstock and finished products - one for black oils and the other for white. We currently have a combined storage capacity of 60,000 cbm at refinery and port terminal to handle our trading products including Bitumen. We have plans to setup similar refineries in Tanzania and Saudi Arabia.

Gulf Petrochem can now work with a wide spectrum of feedstock and finished products, which are sold locally as well as in other markets in the Middle East, South Asia and Far East.
