In 1998, Gulf Petrochem first established a re-refinery in Sharjah's Hamriyah Free Zone. It was the commissioning of this refinery that firmly established the Company into oil production. The success of this refinery was harnessed with a state-of-the-art PLC-based refinery taking the combined capacity to about 200 MT per day. Gulf Petrochem made headway yet again with the commissioning of a Condensate Splitter at Hamriyah Free Zone in 2008. The state-of-the-art refinery with its distillation columns is capable of handling a large spectrum of petroleum based feedstock. The two refining units - one for black oils and the other for white, have a joint capacity of 500 MT Per day. Gulf Petrochem can now work with a wide spectrum of feedstock and finished products, which are sold locally as well as in other markets in the Middle East, South Asia and Far East.
